The Colorado Springs Sky Sox rallied for the tying run in the
eighth inning and another in the ninth Sunday to bag a 4-3 win over
Fresno on Mike Peeples' two-out, run-scoring single that plated Jose
Flores.
"Fresno's rally (three runs in the seventh inning) burst our
bubble a little bit," Sky Sox manager Chris Cron said. "But that's
part of baseball. And the other part is coming back, which we did in
the ninth.
"We got great starting and relief pitching, and clutch hits late
in the game, when we needed it the most. Of course, if we'd have had
a few more of those hits earlier we could have put them away. But
that's the way it goes, and the important thing is that we won."
