Article: Super Saver creates competition for art films

For the first time in recent memory, and possibly the first time in the history of Colorado Springs, the city has two competing art- film theaters: Kimball's Twin Peak and - get ready for this one - Super Saver Cinemas.

The discount second-run theater at Citadel Crossing shopping center has begun dedicating at least one of its screens each week to first-run art films - at discount prices.

The theater kicked off the new art screen Friday with the Merchant-Ivory film "The Golden Bowl."

Among the Super Saver's coming attractions: "The Widow of Saint- Pierre," "Songcatcher" and "Chopper." Admission for kids and adults is $3, the same price people pay for other movies there.
