You would have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by the prospect of network executives replacing "Nightline" with "Late Night with David Letterman." Since word was leaked that ABC was trying to lure Letterman away from CBS -- casting "Nightline" and its famous anchor, Ted Koppel, adrift -- members of the print media (as the TV people like to call them) have been beside themselves with concern.
