Cathy Rueth, Jefferson, Roberta Teitelbaum, Milwaukee, and
Charlotte Hansen, Sussex, sent recipes for making apple pie in a
paper bag as requested by Kevin Kehoe, Elm Grove.

Paper Bag Apple Pie
4 to 5 large baking apples (about 2 1/2 pounds or about 6 cups),
peeled, cored and cut into chunks
1 cup sugar (divided)
2 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup flour (divided)
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 unbaked deep-dish 9-inch pastry shell
1 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, room temperature
1 large brown paper bag
In bowl, toss apples with 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and
