The normally confident-looking Oscar De La Hoya suddenly appeared
nervous shortly after walking into the lobby of the Mandalay Bay
hotel. He has been around Las Vegas enough to expect the unexpected,
but how was he to know that someone would stick a parrot onto his
left arm while a mariachi band blasted its greeting? De La Hoya can
radiate like a star in the sky, but a tentative toothy grin was all
he could muster today as he stood awkwardly with his arm extended,
clearly wishing to be rescued from the perched bird.
A little later, De La Hoya appeared more himself in talking about
his meeting with Felix Trinidad on Saturday night in the title
