Distribution center plan in trouble

Normally, a 170,000-square-foot distribution center that brings 180 jobs and $300,000 of annual property tax revenue would be a perfect fit for a business park.

However, normal is seldom used to describe the politics that continually swirl around the Franklin Business Park.

The distribution center project, which had been approved by the Community Development Authority, is running into roadblocks. Meanwhile, the Common Council has voted to take away the authority's ability to approve future developments in the 425-acre park.
