Los Angeles -- Cardinal Roger Mahony, who leads the nation's largest Catholic diocese, was in good condition Monday after being hospitalized for treatment of a blood clot in his lung, church officials said.

Mahony, 66, was admitted Sunday night to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, the archdiocese said. He is expected to remain hospitalized for several days.
