Video visitation system in sheriff's budget

Agency's chopper may be on cutting board

A plan to end face-to-face visits with Milwaukee County Jail inmates in favor of contact through a video visitation system will be part of the Sheriff's Department 2003 budget, Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said Wednesday.

Pending approval by the County Board, Clarke said he'd like to see the new video system installed at the jail within a year.
