Batting practice makes perfect

For the participants in the 73rd All-Star Game, the daily ritual of pulling on a jersey and taking part in batting practice will take on special significance.

With the possible exception of opening day and the playoffs, the idea of an all-star player being "pumped up" for batting practice is far-fetched.

Be honest: How excited were you about brushing your teeth this morning? That's pretty much how baseball players view batting practice, often referred to by the initials "BP."
