Printing industry in deep sales slowdown

August numbers up; annual totals head down for 2nd year

The printing industry is in one of the worst sales slumps in decades, according to figures released Monday by a national trade association.

"It's all part of a frustratingly slow recovery from an exceptionally deep, broad recession," said Andrew Paparozzi, chief economist for the National Association for Printing Leadership in Paramus, N.J.
