Printing industry in deep sales slowdown
August numbers up; annual totals head down for 2nd year

The printing industry is in one of the worst sales slumps in
decades, according to figures released Monday by a national trade
association.
"It's all part of a frustratingly slow recovery from an
exceptionally deep, broad recession," said Andrew Paparozzi, chief
economist for the National Association for Printing Leadership in
Paramus, N.J.
Printing is a $6.7 billion industry in Wisconsin that employs more
than 47,000 workers. Wisconsin ranks eighth in the nation in printing
