Development must leave room for beauty

After reading "The Door dilemma" in the Sept. 15 Journal Sentinel, I hope that more people will become aware of the true dangers Door County is facing.

Growth and development are inevitable, but this article chillingly pointed out the remarkable power those who do not reside in the county have on the decisions regarding its future. Faulty septic tanks and highway expansion are only on the surface of what is a more deeply rooted problem: non-residents lacking the vision and foresight to appropriately deal with the demands and reality of life in Door County.
