CFO steps up to be new Fortis Health president

Don Hamm, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Fortis Health, will become president of the Milwaukee-based health insurer Sept. 1.

He replaces Ben Cutler, who will become an executive vice president at New York-based Fortis Inc., the insurer's parent company. Cutler also will hold the newly created position of chairman of Fortis Health.

The changes were announced Monday.

Fortis Health, 501 W. Michigan Ave., sells individual medical, small-group, short-term and student health insurance. The company has 2,000 Wisconsin employees and 1,000 in other states.
