Attorney Franklyn Gimbel is the last man you'd expect to cause trouble for U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl.

Gimbel and Kohl have been friends for nearly half a century, ever since they were fraternity brothers at the University of Wisconsin- Madison in the mid-1950s. But Gimbel has become the prime obstacle to a high-level effort to bail out the Milwaukee Bucks, the NBA team owned by Kohl.
