Bucher says group will donate $50,000 to help fund DARE

Waukesha -- Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher hopes to pump new life into the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program using money from a private, non-profit organization that he founded.

Faced with the loss of $420,000 in county support for DARE, Bucher has offered to contribute up to $50,000 from FACT-DARE, which he established years ago using court-ordered donations from drug defendants.

"We're moving in where the county was," Bucher said Thursday.
