Bowling bodies ready to become pin pals with merger

The nation's four amateur bowling organizations could become one
in 2003 in what is being described as the largest non-profit merger
in U.S. history.
If approved, the merger of the Greendale-based American Bowling
Congress, Women's International Bowling Congress, Young American
Bowling Alliance and USA Bowling would create one national governing
body with 3.4 million members.
That would be the largest sports membership organization in the
nation. The name of the governing body would be the U.S. Bowling
Association.
