UW tree falls victim to seasonal thieves

Oh Serbian spruce tree, oh Serbian spruce tree. What foolish knave hath stolen thee?

Alas, another tragedy has struck the University of Wisconsin- Madison, which is still reeling from the theft of one of its prized Bucky Badger costumes.

Over the weekend, one of the eight Serbian spruce trees on campus vanished. The 8-foot, 23-year-old tree is now just a stump. And stumped is exactly how campus officials feel.

A missing tree report has been filed with university police.
