Author Leah Rosch, the former executive editor of American Homestyle & Gardening magazine, has taken a thorough look at the building genre in a new book, "American Farmhouses: Country Style and Design," published by Simon & Schuster.

Among other things, the book defines and illustrates farmhouse styles and discusses restoring vs. refurbishing.
