Slinger -- Candidates for village president in this community with a recent history of political turmoil are debating government policies, not personalities, as they prepare for a primary election.

Village President Sharon Grudzinski and challengers Troy Fassbender and Russell Brandt are focusing their campaigns on issues surrounding village growth, property taxes and zoning.
