Spokane, Wash. -- A year ago, Freddie Owens played Spike Lee, filming a documentary on Wisconsin's NCAA tournament appearance through the eyes of senior Travon Davis.

The piece was for an independent study class and included highlights of the Badgers' late-season run that ended in the second round with a loss to Maryland, the eventual national champion. Owens, whose major is journalism, wrote the script and supplied the narration.
