Mexican Consulate assists 1,500 during a two-day visit

About 1,500 people from all over Milwaukee's Latino community showed up for the two-day on-site visit of the Chicago-based Mexican Consulate (Consulado General de Mexico).

In collaboration Friday and Saturday with the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation, the Federation for Civic Action and North Shore Bank, the Mexican Consulate staff and local volunteers assisted immigrants in obtaining identification cards, visas and other information and documentation. The event was held at the scholarship foundation's office, 1220 W. Windlake Ave.
