Hot flashes, Premarin raise several questions for women

Sometimes I get many questions about the same subject all around the same time. This week's column addresses some common issues in women's health.

Q. I took Premarin (estrogen) for 25 years following a hysterectomy for fibroids. I recently decided with my doctor to stop taking it. Within the week of stopping the medicine, I had some headaches and a "fuzziness" in my head. When I went to the emergency room, all the tests, including a scan of my head, were OK. Could this be due to stopping Premarin?
