Stevens Point Brewery revives Augsburger label

Augsburger beer, a longtime regional brand in Wisconsin and Illinois, is being revived by Stevens Point Brewery after a two-year hiatus.

Stevens Point introduced two styles of Augsburger, a dark beer and a golden lager, at liquor stores and other retail outlets last week, said Joe Martino, operating partner for the Stevens Point-based company.

The brand also will soon be available at restaurants and taverns, including its first such outlet, Calderone Club, a downtown Milwaukee restaurant, 842 N. 3rd St.
