Commercial development on Mequon Road debated

Planning Commission sees little interest in changing land use plan

Mequon -- Allowing more commercial development along western Mequon Road likely would not be in the city's best interest and the land for the most part should remain zoned for residential uses, the city's Planning Commission says.

The commission on Monday discussed whether the city's land use plan should be modified to allow for commercial development in the area that includes about 170 acres on the north side of Mequon Road from Buntrock Ave. to Wauwatosa Road.
