Witkowski elected to Common Council

Less than eight weeks after getting bumped from the primary ballot, Terry Witkowski was elected Tuesday to the Milwaukee Common Council in the 13th District, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of former Ald. Jeff Pawlinski.

Witkowski, a former city safety director, topped Nancy Plichta, a Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District official, by a margin of 587 votes. The two emerged from a 14-candidate primary field last month.
