It's a question of trusting people

According to Sen. Dave Zien (R-Eau Claire), who is trying to pass legislation allowing the carrying of concealed weapons in Wisconsin, a criminal would be less likely to attack someone if there was a possibility that his intended victim was armed ("Concealed weapons testimony divided," Sept. 10). That logic does not seem to hold up in the central city, where it is apparent that gun possession is common but where crime involving guns is an all-too-frequent event.
