There's nothing better than a real, old-fashioned grilled cheese
sandwich -- unless it's a real, "New-Fashioned" Grilled Cheese
Sandwich.
We started experimenting with variations after eating several
"mod" versions at our favorite neighborhood sandwich shop.
It almost doesn't matter what you add to a grilled cheese, as long
as the flavors are bold. Think of today's recipe as a starting point,
then get creative.
For example, take your favorite hearty bread, spread on a bit of
mayonnaise and mustard, then add at least two kinds of cheese and a
