Arbitration overhaul proposal excludes Milwaukee police

Madison -- Republican legislators Tuesday offered sweeping changes
to the state's binding arbitration laws for all public employee
unions -- except Milwaukee police officers.
That exception brought immediate and stinging criticism from
opponents, who linked the move to campaign donations from the
Milwaukee's police union to GOP officials.
"It's pretty clear who Milwaukee police officers have been
benefiting lately," said Senate Democratic Leader Jon Erpenbach,
referring to $19,050 given by the Milwaukee Police Association's
political committee to ...
