Muffins rekindle 4-H memories

Ellen Rendall, Waukesha, and Virginia Glembin, Oak Creek, sent
recipes for baking powder muffins from a 4-H book as requested by
Mari Schmidt, Menomonee Falls.
Rendall wrote: "I was in 4-H in Manitowoc County in the early
1960s and still have the 4-H recipe book, "It's Fun to Cook."
Enclosed is a copy of the recipe for Yummy Muffins from the book.
Glembin sent a variety of muffin recipes that included baking
powder from cookbooks.
Ellen's Yummy Muffins
2 cups sifted flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 cup sugar 1/2
teaspoon salt 1 egg, beaten 1 cup milk 1/4 cup soft or melted solid
vegetable shortening
