Not only was Robert Poole maliciously wrong and misguided when he called the U.S. air traffic control system "outdated," but he failed to identify technological initiatives that utilize locations such as Milwaukee as national "key sites" for the implementation of new systems, such as ground radar and the air traffic commissioning of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System ("Take another look at privatizing U.S. air traffic control," Sept. 28).

Additionally, it is the Bush administration that is blocking the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill with numerous veto threats ...
