More mad cow cases predicted

Disease could spread to Wisconsin, official says

Madison -- After the discovery of mad cow disease in a Washington state Holstein, Wisconsin's state veterinarian said Thursday that he believes more cases will be found in cattle in America and the fatal, brain-wasting disease could spread to Wisconsin.

"I'm going to be really unhappy, but I can't say I'd be completely flabbergasted if it's found (in Wisconsin) because we import a number of cattle from Canada," Robert Ehlenfeldt told reporters outside a legislative hearing, referring to the fact that the infected animal in Washington ...
