Time was when the words "chicken salad" were associated with the white gloves and pearls of a ladies' luncheon. There might be a tomato aspic on the table as well as some cucumber and watercress sandwiches to enjoy during the rubber of bridge. Place cards, lace tablecloths -- you get the picture.

Nowadays, of course, you can order chicken salad at a fast food drive-through, your favorite family-friendly-chain restaurant or a trendy bistro.
