Stormy weather comes a bit early

It's time to dig in the e-mail bag, and today's question comes
from Marian in Brookfield. She feels that the severe thunderstorms we
experienced in a few areas Monday and Friday were early for
Milwaukee, but not for the rest of the nation. She also wants to know
the peak season for tornadoes.
Severe thunderstorms are rare in early March in Milwaukee and all
of the state, although we seem to have been experiencing these strong
thunderstorms earlier in the season over the past few years. Back in
March 2000, Milwaukee County was touched by a weak tornado near
Mitchell International ...
