Define audience, then make sure to use its language

Whenever you give a presentation, or write a letter or e-mail, it is essential to get a good, clear picture of your audience.

When you get that focused picture of your audience, your "multilingual" capability will kick in. Yes, you are multilingual, even though you might speak only English.

Think about this. You talk one way to your spouse, another way to your children, another way to your colleagues, another way to your clergy, and yet another way to your teammates in the locker room after losing a game.
