Smallmouth bass can hook vacationers

What fish bites like mad during summer's dog days, bucks like a
bronco when hooked, and lives in all corners of Wisconsin?
If you guessed smallmouth bass, you're right. What's more, the
environs of this game fish (a.k.a. smallie, bronzeback, or black
bass) adjoin some of the state's best camping and vacation
destinations. Follow me on a bronzeback tour of Badgerland. We'll see
some scenic (and unusual) places while learning a thing or two about
catching smallmouths. But first a primer on the species.
