A woman who says a University of Colorado football player raped
her in 2001 has challenged recent statements by football coach Gary
Barnett, repeating her claim that he intimidated her into not
pressing charges.
Her charge contradicts Barnett's assertion last week to the
commission investigating football recruiting at the school. Barnett
said he told the woman he would give his player emotional support if
he denied the rape allegation.
But in her statement to the panel Thursday, the woman, calling
herself "Jane Doe," said, "He did not say that he would support the
