'Squeeze is on' with budgets already tight

Rising gasoline prices might have some Racine County folks grumbling as they fill up their cars.

But for local school districts and municipalities, which need thousands of gallons of gasoline for everything from school buses to gravel trucks, the steep prices at the pump could spell trouble for budgets already stretched thin.

"The squeeze is on," said Gary Bishop, the Racine Unified School District's director of buildings and grounds.
