Samuel C. Johnson -- the fourth generation and long the guiding
force at S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. -- was more than just the richest
man in Wisconsin.
Johnson was both entrepreneur and environmentalist. He believed in
what he called the "inside out" theory: Take care of your own
backyard and good things will spread out from there.
