Crawling with cats: Shelter trying to find homes for 200

Humane Society lowers feline fees to encourage adoptions

Town of Polk -- The Washington County Humane Society has too many cats, and the shelter is reducing its usual adoption fee for anyone interested in adopting a cat that is at least 2 years old, executive director Marnie Brown said Thursday.

The shelter has dropped its adoption fee to $25 for cats 2 years old and older. The usual fee is $65 to adopt a cat, which includes spaying or neutering the animal, initial vaccinations and testing for feline leukemia.
