Caramel sauce, bread pudding a good match

Mary Zinsmeister, Slinger, sent a recipe for bread pudding with a caramel sauce as requested by Marian H., via e-mail. The request was for a bread pudding similar to the kind served at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant.

Zinsmeister wrote: "I don't know what the bread pudding is like at the Cracker Barrel, but this one is very good. When I make this I have substituted milk for the half and half and sprinkled slivered almonds on top instead of using raisins. I think I got the recipe from a gourmet magazine."
