Lakers owner Buss says O'Neal forced team to make trade

Los Angeles -- With three weeks remaining on a vacation that has taken him halfway around the world, Lakers owner Jerry Buss spoke Monday from an Italian city famous for sinking about a franchise he is convinced is not doing likewise.

In a rare session with reporters, one starting with the word "Bonjourno," Buss discussed his decision to trade Shaquille O'Neal to the Miami Heat, his optimism about re-signing Kobe Bryant and the direction of the team he has owned for 25 years.
