It was a Proud day in Green Bay
The lad meets the legend
Green Bay -- In a perfect world, all young boys get to meet their
football heroes. On Sunday, the world of 11-year-old Ryan Proud was,
indeed, perfect.
He got to meet Brett Favre.
You might remember the story of Ryan and his family, presented in
this space in the July 15-21 issue of Packer Plus.
Ryan, who lives in Fairport, N.Y., long ago had become a Packer
fan, lured to the Green and Gold by the skills and charisma of No. 4,
Brett Lorenzo Favre.
But his interest in the quarterback was to run much deeper than
football. It flowered into a profound bond late last December when
Favre's father, Irv, died of a heart attack.
