Paterno not sure how good Nittany Lions are

Madison -- Joe Paterno isn't easily stumped.

In his 55th season at Penn State University, Paterno has seen just about everything football can offer.

Yet three games into his 39th season as the Nittany Lions' head coach, Paterno isn't sure what to make of his 2-1 team heading into the Big Ten Conference opener at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at 20th-ranked Wisconsin (3-0).

"It's hard to say. I know we have two wins," he said. "We have to go to Wisconsin and (then) Minnesota, two of the better teams in the country. After those games, then I'll have a better idea.

"It doesn't make a difference how I feel about them ...
