Third-generation brewer devoted to his family
Miller Brewing worker helped develop Lite
Donald Neumann believed that you got out only what you put into
something.
That was true in his work as a research chemist for Miller
Brewing. It was doubly true at home, where Neumann devoted himself to
his family.
"No. 1 was his family," said daughter Lynda Neumann.
Donald H. Neumann Sr. died Friday, surrounded by family, at his
home on the northwest side. He was 83. He had been diagnosed with
lung cancer about 2 1/2 years ago.
"His youngest daughter turned out the light, because she knew he
never slept with the light on," said another daughter, Nancy Payne.
"And a little later, he was gone."
