Young women take their bows at debutante balls
No debutante will ever forget her debut -- the night of joy and
anxiety, the swirl of satin and lace, the admiring hush as she made
her formal curtsy.
The months of obligations, weeks of practice and hours of getting
dressed simply etch that memory all the more indelibly in her mind.
In Milwaukee, Thanksgiving weekend is debutante season. Three
debutante balls showcase the confidence, poise and pride of young
women, some in their senior year of high school and others in their
first year of college.
