Video gamers' heaven:Long-awaited 'Halo 2' flies off shelves
2.4 million units of Xbox title sold on first day
Mike Salach was counting down the days until the release of "Halo
2."
The 14-year-old from Greenfield diligently followed every detail
while the video game was being developed, gazing online at short
segments of video footage and reading rumors on Web sites.
He's one of millions who scrambled to snatch up the game, which
sold 2.4 million copies in 24 hours since going on sale at midnight
Tuesday. Teenagers and their parents, twenty- and thirtysomethings
and even some senior citizens lined up late Monday night to be among
the first to buy "Halo 2."
