Sprinkle time-saving tips into holiday baking

There's usually one thing missing from the cookie recipes we clip and collect and save for the holidays: time.

Not the cookie's baking time -- that's stated right there in black and white. It's the time those sweet little things take out our workaday lives.

The cookies are only in the oven for a matter of minutes. But the time up front, the hours spent perusing cookbooks, making lists, buying ingredients and mixing them up is left out of the equation.

And while there is a certain joy to the process, it can become just another chore.

Then there's the emotional element at the holidays.

We think we should bake cookies for our families ...
