2 leaders create their own quagmires
Recent days have left two local government leaders in Waukesha
County on the ropes, though you might not know it from their public
posturing.
Menomonee Falls Village President Jefferson Davis is in deep doo-
doo, charged with three felonies and 26 lesser counts of campaign
finance violations Tuesday. All told, convictions could bring him up
to 12 1/2 years in prison, $45,000 in fines and a boot from office.
Pewaukee Mayor Jeffrey Nowak is only open to charges of poor
judgment, which doesn't leave him looking so great either.
Early last Friday, he tipped a few at a Christmas party in
