New year will bring changes to stock tables

With the start of the new year next weekend, the Journal Sentinel is going to introduce changes to its weekend stock and mutual fund tables.

Because more investors are using the Internet to check the performance of their stocks, bonds and mutual funds, the Journal Sentinel will no longer provide expanded stock listings Saturday and separate mutual fund listings Sunday.

Instead, Saturday's paper will carry combined stock and mutual fund tables, with weekly closing prices and the change from the prior day's closing.

On Sundays, the Journal Sentinel plans to offer an expanded Weekly Market Watch a compilation of stock indexes, ...
