Sex not rife in prison, panel says
But Southern Oaks inmates say otherwise in anonymous survey
An outside panel charged with investigating claims of rampant
sexual activity among inmates at Southern Oaks Girls School has sided
with the prison's warden in finding the sexual activity is
infrequent.
The review panel refused, however, to include in its report
specific findings of an anonymous survey of a third of the inmates
who apparently said otherwise.
"If taken alone, the written survey results from the residents
create the interpretation of more sexual activity than what the more
complete and comprehensive review indicates," the panel wrote in its
report, which was released Monday.
