Phoenix The Milwaukee Brewers were taking infield an hour before
their first spring-training game of the season Friday at the same
time the owner was participating in a photo shoot just behind home
plate. That made it incumbent upon on Lyle Overbay to not overthrow
Pat Borders, not that Mark Attanasio was particularly mindful.
Attanasio is a big-deal rich guy, wealthy enough to have gone to
closing alone six weeks ago on the $220 million note. But at least on
this spectacular afternoon, Attanasio was that young baseball junkie
growing up in the Bronx following all the moves of Joe Pepitone, Tom
Tresh and Roy White.
